Pineapple Duck Breasts
600 g duck breasts
500 g fresh pineapple
100 g small onions or spring onion bulbs
50 ml cognac (or vinjak)
20 g butter
thyme
salt
ground black pepper
Make cuts on duck skin. Add deep frying pan and place meat in it, skin side down. Fry on both sides until they brown.
Remove meat from the pan, add butter and fry onions for about 10 minutes, add thinly sliced pineapple and after a few minutes return the meat to the pan.
Season, add cognac and saute for another 10 minutes. Serve with thyme.

ReplyDeleteE, da si mi vid'la facu! Kasno sam sinoć/jutros legla, danas jedva izbauljala oko podneva i onak' krmeljiva ;) gledam reader i mislim si kaj joj je, pa već je objavila pačja prsa ??? :). Onda gledam dalje, vidim nema komentara, pa reko', zakaj je obrisala komentare???, onda se umijem :)))))), pa vidim da je ananas u pitanju! :D
ReplyDeleteOdlična ideja i ja sam o njoj razmišljala, ali nije stiglo na red, možda nešto slično, ali ipak ne s patkom, izvedem u narednom mjesecu, pa se prikrpam i sa slanom ulaznicom. Fotkica ti je poslovično izvanredna! :)
Izgleda kako u restorantu, super.

ReplyDeleteThis was my first time preparing duck, too, and the dish was just so incredibly moist and delicious. Also quite simple to prepare - aside from skinning the duck breasts! Served with rice and bok choy as suggested. Yum!
ReplyDeleteEven our daughter loved it. Used wild duck we shot earlier in the day, dried cranberries instead of cherries and mango juice instead of pineapple juice. GREAT! Jasmine rice and steamed savoy cabbage in vegetable broth topped it off. New Years menu!
