Chestnut & Chocolate Ice Cream

Chestnut & Chocolate Ice Cream

Yesterday, it was Closet Cooking second birthday. I absolutely love Kevin's blog and am very happy that this month's FBI Gloves came just in time for his blogoversary. Here is a small contribution from me :)

I made this chestnut and chocolate ice cream combining my favorite recipe for the ice cream base and Kevin's original recipe. I love chestnut puree but it never occurred to me that I could use it in ice cream. It was a great choice of flavoring that everybody loved. Kevin, thanks a lot for the recipe!

  4. I'm a huge fan of Kevin's blog, I just love it, and this is a GREAT item to pick. I've never had chestnut puree in an ice cream base either. Your photography is just splendid. I'm not worthy.

  10. @Junglefrog & Farida - I don't have an ice cream machine. Just follow the recipe and put it in a freezer. If there is a liquid added (for example coffee) or pieces of fruit that could fall down to the bottom of a bowl, I just stir it every half an hour for a few first hours.

@Kate - You are too kind! And making me blush :)

@Marta - Yes, he should be very proud! He's got an amazing blog that we all love!

  21. Wow, great idea. I love chestnut too but would not have thought of ice-cream. Just need to have another frenzy of macaron making to stock up on spare egg yolks and I'll give this a go! :)

  22. Your chestnut and chocolate ice cream looks so good! It looks like it is at the perfect stage of melting where it is warm enough to fully appreciate the flavours without freezing your tongue and yet still nice and cool and refreshing.

  23. Once me and my colleague had a chance to have Swiss premium ice creams, two scoops of Movenpick ice creams of our choice. They were simply soothing. This is something one can’t afford to miss. You scream, I scream for Ice Cream!!
