Start with something like on the left. Take a small amount of fondant, make a ball with it and flatten between your fingers to make petals.
After you attach the leaves let the rose dry a bit and then cut the stem to the desired length.
Make desired number of flowers and then start making stems, one at a time. You will need 2 pieces of green fondant like on the right for that.
Wrap smaller part around the bottom of the flower and place the longer part over it. Press it with your finger and start rolling it back and forth, gently, until it comes together.
Just beautiful Marija...awesome!

ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial!
I have tried working with fondant only once, and it was awful; it's surprising to me because I am an artist by nature, I can draw and sculpt with great attention to detail.
You make it look so simple, perhaps I should give it another try...
lovely...looovely! Not sure am going to eat those beautiful pieces :-P To think why I never try it out even though I'm incline to arts... :-P For now, I have to bookmark your tutorial for 'future' use :-) Keep up the wonderful work... by chance you made cakes or pastry for sale or... opened a cake shop?

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I've never worked with fondant before and I'm tempted to.
ReplyDeleteThese fondant flowers are impressive. You really need an artist's eye, and hand, to make these come out so beautifully. I simply don't have the skills, either to make the flowers or give a tutorial. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful! I really like that you made the roses without using fondant cutters.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of food and art mixed into one!
