400 g ground pork
1 onion
3 garlic cloves
1 Tbsp grated fresh ginger root
1 tsp honey
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 pinch of curry powder
wonton wrappers (we don't have them in stores here in Serbia, so I had to make them myself; here is a great and easy to make recipe)
In a large bowl, combine all the filling ingredients and stir until well mixed. Place filling onto each wonton skin and fold it into desired shape.
Line bottom of a bamboo steamer wit a parchment paper (or a lettuce or banana leaf). Place dumplings on it and put steamer into a wok. The wok should be filled with water just below the bottom of the steamer.
Steam for 20 minutes. Serve immediately.

ReplyDeleteUniversal comfort food.
Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI want a plate of these RIGHT. NOW. Yummmm! (and it's only morning here)
ReplyDeleteOooh you even made your own wonton wrappers, nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty confident that I could eat 58 of those.
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed! You made your own wonton wrappers?
ReplyDeleteA friend from Singapore taught me how to make these. We used to have a real manufacture going on in our college kitchen! 4 or 5 people just rolling and chatting and laughing. :) She said there was a popular belief in China that you have to seal the wontons properly, so the filling does not fall out, to ensure your prosperity in life....
Your dumplings sound so delicious! And I love your photographs, great! :-)
